Funding & Supporters
We appreciate financial support from local, state and federal government organisations. We pay tribute to our sponsors and individual supporters. Their continued support ensures our long-term sustainability as Australia’s national centre of excellence in contemporary arts for young people.

In 2003-4 Noel Tovey, one of Australia’s best known indigenous actors, played the lead role in our production Skipping on Stars. Noel recognised the potential that circus has to change the lives of young people through developing self-esteem, self-discipline and self-confidence. As a result Noel established a subsidy scheme that gives us the discretion to grant up to four scholarships a year to assist with training and/or educational fees.
The trust allocates a total of $4500 annually. Recipients are selected by a sub-committee of the Board. Their names remain confidential. These scholarships ensure circus is accessible, providing pathways for a future in the arts. Our selection criteria includes but is not limited to:
- Level of financial hardship
- Family circumstances
- Potential talent
Our scholarships assume recipients remain active participants in the program. If a child withdraws for any reason during the year then the balance of the scholarship is transferred to the next student from the original application round. Fees already paid for that term will be refunded to the successful applicant.
