Selection
Entry is by audition, with the school and circus managing the final selection process. There are usually three ways to enrol.
- Local children are identified through Circus Arts and invited to complete a series of selection classes in term 3.
- Children who live further away or who are not part of the Circus Arts program may register to audition or send a DVD.
- Occasionally people are offered an audition place based on participation at community or National Training Project.
Once selected, children in grades 3 – 9 are obliged to enrol in our school. Year 10-12 attend Wodonga Senior Secondary College.
“It was a big ask but when we see Seth and Marcela performing, achieving and doing something they are passionate about it is all worth it,’’ says Janelle Schuener. Janelle and Colin, parents of Marcela 14 and Seth 17, sold their business and moved from Henty to Albury to cut down on travelling to daily training and rehearsals.
Orientation Day
An information session at the school is held in October for families selected to join the circus. Two Orientation days in term 4 help families prepare for the next academic year.
